Wimmera UnitingCare has limited resources to provide financial support in the community. The Intake Team can provide basic support to those experiencing issues with small outstanding utility bills and budget advice. Those experiencing greater financial hardship and requiring greater support will be assisted to access further help. Please note, there can be significant waitlists for financial counselling services. Please contact us for more information so we can determine your level of need and provide appropriate support.
Wimmera UnitingCare can provide limited access to vouchers for vulnerable people in need. Vouchers could include money for petrol, groceries or medical prescriptions depending on the needs of the individual. Please note, we do not distribute fresh food. Fresh food is accessible at your nearest emergency food centre.
Generalist Financial Counselling
Available to Wimmera residents who are facing financial hardship, Financial Counselling is confidential, impartial and is able to negotiate suitable repayment with creditors, utility providers, banks and other lenders. This is a free and independent service. If at capacity – the financial counsellor will make a referral through to Money Help 1800 007 007, a phone Financial Counselling Service.
